Central Baptist falls to No. 3 Columbia

Columbia, Mo. – The CBC Mustangs went back and forth in the first half against NAIA #3 Columbia College but could not contain the Cougars as they fall 86-68.

CBC’s Nick Jones had a season high 16 points, Marcelious Green added ten in the effort. Mike Evans had eight points and led with six rebounds. MonDarius Benson added nine points with Jayln McBride putting in eight.

The first half saw both teams working to keep it close as there were two ties early. Travis Vogt (CC) made it 28-16, the Cougars largest lead with 8:06 left in the half. With 5:37 left Mustangs’ Jones scored off a Cougars turnover to give Central Baptist the lead 29-28. This would be the closest CBC would come in the half and the game.

CBC was held to 35.5% from the field while Columbia hit 51.9%. The loss gives Central Baptist a 11-6, 6-5 AMC record. Columbia is 19-1, 12-0 AMC.
