Lyon, Central Baptist tied for first after opening round of Spring Invite

MELBOURNE, Ark. – Through 18 holes of the Lyon College Spring Invite, the Lyon College men’s golf team is tied for first in the overall team standings with a score of 295 on Monday afternoon. Joshua Lunceford and Tomas Mariscotti head into Tuesday’s action tied for third place on the individual leaderboard.

On the par-72 course at Cooper’s Hawk Golf Course, Lunceford and Mariscotti carded a one-over par round of 73 to lead the Scots. Central Baptist College’s Colton Ryan leads the field as he shot a three-under, 69. Faulkner’s Matthew Nuttall finished one shot ahead of Lunceford and Mariscotti with an even round of 72.

Bruno Mariscotti shot a two-over, 74, and sits in a tie for eighth place. Joshua Burcham sits in a tie for 14th as he shot an opening-round score of 75. Royce LoBianco finished nine-over and is tied for 36th, while Reed Efird shot a 91 and ranks 43rd.

Lyon and CBC currently sit atop the team leaderboard. Freed-Hardeman is in third with a team score of 298, while Faulkner sits in fourth with a score of 301. Lindenwood-Belleville and Blue Mountain College are currently tied for fifth after shooting a 306, while Williams Baptist rounds out the field with a team score of 321.

Hailey Elmore shot a 94 in the opening round and is in 11th place for the Lyon College women’s team.

The final round of the Lyon College Spring Invite will be played out on Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m.
