DALLAS – The Arkansas State men’s golf team shot a second-round 282 Wednesday at the Bob Sitton Invitational, ending the day with four players among the top-25 individual leaders as it took over first place at the 54-hole tourney featuring 24 teams.
The Red Wolves began play yesterday by recording a 288 at TPC Four Seasons before cutting six strokes off that total today. Four of A-State’s five competing golfers improved on their first-round score to help the squad claim an eight-stroke lead over second-place Long Beach State through two rounds of action.
Zan Luka Stirn, currently tied for first place, leads the Red Wolves with a 137 (69-68). Joining him among the top-10 leaders is Tanner Napier, who stands third with a 141 (68-73).
Also competing for Arkansas State, Joel Wendin is tied for 13th place with 145 (75-70), Andrew Huseman tied for 24th with a 147 (76-71) and Trent Jones tied for 69th with a 153 (78-75).
The Bob Sitton Invitational will conclude Thursday with the third-and-final round.
