CONWAY – The Hendrix College women’s lacrosse team set a new school record for goals and points in Saturday’s 20-4 victory over LaGrange College at Warrior Field Saturday.
The Warriors (4-3) broke the old scoring record of 19 set in 2015 and with nine assists they recorded 29 points for another new mark.
The Orange & Black led the Panthers (2-2) 3-2 with 17:35 left in the first period, before scoring five more times to take an 8-2 advantage into the break.
LaGrange made the game 13-4 with 16:10 remaining, but Hendrix tacked on the final seven goals for the final tally.
For the game, the Warriors recorded 20 goals, nine assists, 34 shots, 26 on goal, 23 ground balls, 16 draw controls, 21 turnovers and 15 caused turnovers while going 12-of-20 on clear attempts.
The Panthers had four goals, one assist, 18 shots, 16 on goal, 23 ground balls, nine draws, 25 turnovers, 18 caused turnovers and were 11-of-13 on clears.
Hendrix Notes
– Sophomore attacker Morgan Dasch tied her own school record with six assists. She also had a goal, seven draws and two caused turnovers.
– Junior attacker Bridget Umble registered six goals.
– Senior midfielder Raychl Reger had two goals, two assists, four ground balls and two draws.
– Junior midfielder Reilly Frazier recorded two goals and an assist.
– Junior midfielder Shelby Hill scored four times, including two on free position shots, and caused a pair of turnovers.
– Ashley Ybarra, Hanna Burroughs, Kaitlyn Smith, Holly Heeb and Meghan Ayers each scored a goal.
– Smith also won five draw controls and picked up four ground balls.
– Senior defender Garbyele Pochron caused three turnovers.
– Sophomore Alexis Truitt stopped 12 shots in goal.
– The Warriors’ nine assists were the second most in program history.
LaGrange Notes
– Rachael Thomas scored twice with five ground balls, two draws and four caused turnovers.
– Davida White had a goal and an assist.
– Eva Tallent recorded a goal, six ground balls, three draw controls and caused five turnovers.
– Cierra Towe recorded six saves.
