WALNUT RIDGE – The Williams Baptist College soccer program has released its 2017 men’s and women’s soccer schedules. The men are slated to play 17 games, with nine home matches, while the Lady Eagles are scheduled for 16 games, with half being played at the Eagle Soccer Field.
The Eagles will open their season with a home contest against Ecclesia College on Sept. 1. After that, WBC will play three non-conference matches against Kansas Christian College, Harding University, and University of the Ozarks before jumping into American Midwest Conference play on September 12.
Their first conference game will be at Freed-Hardeman University, then there will be a marquee matchup against Hannibal-LaGrange University on September 16. WBC’s last season came to an end at HLGU in overtime of an AMC quarterfinal matchup.
The Eagles will host Park University for senior day on Oct.21. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
The Lady Eagles have a very similar schedule, and will open their season at home against Ecclesia College on September 1. Williams will then play Kansas Christian College on September 4, before going on the road against University of the Ozarks on Sept. 8.
Conference play will begin Sept. 12 at Freed-Hardeman University. The Eagles edged FHU in double overtime in 2016. WBC will host Missouri Baptist University on Sept. 23 in a rematch of last year’s AMC quarterfinal matchup, when WBC was eliminated.
Senior day will be against Park University on Oct. 21, and the final regular season game will be played at Lindenwood University-Belleville on Oct. 28.
