Eugene, Ore. – Taylor Ellis-Watson had a personal best in the final of the 400m at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Sunday.
Unfortunately for her, it was just a little short in her attempt to make the team.
For Arkansas star Ellis-Watson finished fourth in the 400m final, running a 50.25 in the event. She was .08 seconds behind Natasha Hastings, whose time of 50.17 was enough for third place.
Allison Felix claimed first place in the final with a sub-50 time of 49.68. Felix is a six-time Olympic medalist with two silvers and four golds, including the 200m championship in 2012.
Phyllis Francis finished second at 49.94. The top three will represent the United States in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August at the 2016 Olympics.
