UAPB hoopsters leave Sunday for 10-day tour of Canada

PINE BLUFF – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men’s basketball team will travel to Canada for a 10-day Canadian Summer Tour with the Golden Lions departing on Sunday, Aug. 7, and returning on Monday, Aug. 15.
“This is a great opportunity for us.  It gives us a chance to build some team chemistry early and for the new kids to learn our system,” said ninth year head coach George Ivory.
During the Golden Lions visit to the Canada, UAPB will tour famed Olympic Stadium of Montreal, Saint Joseph Cathedral and tours of Montreal and Ottawa.
UAPB will visit three cities and play in four contests in seven days with the Golden Lions making two stops in Montreal, Quebec, Quebec City, Quebec and Ottawa, Ontario.
In their first stop of their three-city tour, UAPB will travel to Montreal, Quebec, to take on the University of Quebec at Montreal on Monday, Aug. 8, in a 7 p.m. EST start.  Then two days later, the Golden Lions will take on the University of Laval on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. EST in Quebec City, Quebec.
Two days later, the Golden Lions will then travel southwest to Ottawa, Ontario to take on Carleton University on Friday, Aug. 12, in a 7 p.m. EST start.  
The Golden Lions will conclude their tour against McGill University on Sunday, Aug. 14, in a 1 p.m. EST start in Montreal, Quebec.
